The Best of Concealer

Thursday 25 February 2016
Ahh concealer always saving us from tricky situations, like helping cover up the evidence of last nights antics by brightening up our tired under eye, or hiding a pesky spot that's conveniently popped up right before an interview or even for disguising tattoos! We have to face it that sometimes foundation alone just doesn't make the cut. And even if you're blessed by the skin Gods and have impossibly perfect skin you shouldn't skip concealer.  It helps to add dimension to the face, just using a lighter concealer under the eyes can really brighten up your whole complexion and make your cheekbones appear higher, no one wants a flat foundation face. Here is a list of all the concealers I cannot live without and what they're used for.

1. MAC- Prolong wear concealer

Use for under eyes, blemishes & highlighting

This is my all time favourite concealer. No matter how many I try I always revert back to this one. A little goes a very long way with this product, you can either have super full coverage for blemishes or more natural for under eyes. It's a liquid formula which makes it really easy to blend on top of foundation. Also it stays on all night! That is such a big factor when buying concealers for me, I don't see the point in having products that don't stay? It doesn't have any SPF so no horrible flashback in photos. I use it for uplighting my under eyes mainly and usually to start my contour routine.  The only downfall to this product is it's pump lid, I find I always pump out way more than I need. But this is definitely a must have!

2. Collection 2000- Lasting perfection concealer

Use for under eyes & blemishes

This stuff definitely wins for best value for money. It is so so cheap which is why I was pleasantly shocked when I tried it and saw how good it was. A cream consistency with a wand applicator makes for easy blending and smooth looking on skin. Perfect for highlighting under eyes and covering blemishes. I would honestly say it could rival some more premium concealers. The reason why I don't wear this often is because the formula is very matte which on my skin clogs slightly as I'm very dry, however it would be fine for normal and oily skin types.
-Colour 01 light
-Price- £3.99

3. Smashbox 24 hour CC spot concealer

Use for spots, blemishes, scars & tattoos
If you're someone who wants an industrial strength concealer that will cover anything and I mean anything, then this is the concealer for you. Tattoos, acne scars, pigmentation, redness you name it and this can cover it. Put it on the areas that need before foundation, the sponge applicator allows you to put it directly onto even the smallest spots. Leave for 30 seconds to go tacky then gently blend with fingers and your covered for 24 hours. It has liquid bondage technology that means the product bonds over spots to stop them looking raised and guarantees smoother skin. I use this every time I get a breakout and it's a life saver, I would recommend this to anyone.
-Colour light
-Price: £20

4. Becca Under eye brightening corrector

Use for brightening under eye darkness
More of a corrector that a concealer, smooth across under eyes before putting on concealer almost as a primer and not only will it brighten under eyes up but stop creasing and improve longevity of other products. This product just feels so nice to use, its so creamy and you barely need any. Its slight peachy tone counteracts dark circles and it has light reflecting illuminators to make you appear more awake. Essential for people who struggle with dark circles, even if you don't I love how much brighter my complexion looks after applying this.
-Price: £19

5. Smashbox BB cream eyes

The benefits of a BB cream merged with the power of an eye cream. It's the perfect under eye concealer, it does everything you want it to. Covers dark circles, hydrates, brightens and even protects as it's got spf! The best thing about this product is that it doesn't crease because the products so light and moisturising so especially good if you suffer with dry skin around eyes. I also love the illuminated effect it gives. However it is very light natural coverage and although it can be built up if you're someone who likes a lot of makeup this probably isn't for you.

Valentines fashion lookbook

Thursday 11 February 2016
Whether you're going on a date, a night out or simply just want some wardrobe inspo. Valentines is the perfect excuse to buy a new outfit! Plus shops are just starting to bring out the new spring season clothes and although this is England and we can guarantee the weather will always be a bit crap that doesn't mean we have to dress crap. I like pieces you can mix and match and dress up or down so here are the valentines outfits I put together with that in mind.

Suede delight

Simple but effective, pair a nude bodysuit with pretty much anything and it'll look great but neutrals together is a perfect match for valentines day.

Sweet Leatherette

Leather can be sweetened with softer colours and the pencil skirt creates a sexy silhouette ideal for a valentines date.

Wrapped up in pink

Baby it is very cold outside and no outfit looks good with goosebumps. Stay warm in style and choose a coat in a valentines colour.

Valentines day makeup

Wednesday 10 February 2016
I am in loooove with valentines day but not for the reasons you think. No it's not because of the obnoxious gifts or the declarations of love or just because it's my first valentines day with my new boyfriend. It's for the fashion. And yes I know how superficial that sounds, Kate Spade said ''Playing dress up begins at age five and never truly ends'' and what better chance to dress up then V day? plus I don't think I ever met a theme I didn't just love (Apart from boats and hoes, that ones seriously been overdone) Valentines day is no exception it has the most beautiful colour palette, blushes, pinks, ruby's and mauves. I think it's the only time that it's acceptable for a twenty something girl to be seen out wearing pink eye shadow, blusher and lipstick!
Here's my valentines day makeup look which can be worn on a date or a night out (because single's should enjoy valentines too).
